The BCUC collects and publishes information about gasoline and diesel fuel activities in BC and our activities as Administrator of the FPT Act.

December 16, 2022 In September 2022, the BCUC observed a period in time where crude oil prices were decreasing while gasoline retail prices increased across the province. The BCUC asked select fuel wholesalers operating in the BC fuel market to explain why the province was experiencing a disconnect between crude oil prices and gasoline retail prices. March 31, 2022 The BCUC issued its Final Report summarizing the results of the Retail Pilot and providing recommendations to the Minister of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation. The BCUC has provided a Supplementary Report to share its final recommendations and engagement process with the public. February 04, 2022 The BCUC's Draft Report summarizes the results of a Retail Pilot that took place over 12 months, during which the BCUC collected data from a group of retail dealers across BC. It explains the BCUC's approach, examines the costs and benefits of collecting fuel data from retail stations, outlines key takeaways from our analysis, and provides draft recommendations to the BC government on what retail fuel data should be collected, who should have to report it, and how frequently it should be reported. March 05, 2021 The BCUC released its first Fuel Market Report, which provides staff observations about fuel pricing behaviour in specific geographical areas of BC, as part of a fuel price data collection project. BCUC Fuel Market Report
